Jennifer and Derek
Married on April 27, 1996 in Piedmont, California they have three children. Jessica is Derek's natual daughter from a previous marriage. She is going on 19 and attends BYU in Provo, Utah. Their two boys were adopted from Russia in June, 2003. Both were only children from the greater Vladivostok area. Semion, now Jake, was born December 1, 1992 and Maxim now Max was born June 4, 1997. We decided the bay area was not where they wanted to raise their new family; so they bought a small ranch in southern Oregon, just outside of Rogue River, Oregon in 2004. They also have three dogs, three cats, two goats and two rabbits hopping around somewhere sharing space on their ranch.
Jennifer is a Certifed Financial Planner and continues to work as a Vice-President for Smith Barney, serving as a financial advisor for high net worth clients. Derek is focused on helping the boys learn english and the "American" ways. Recently he purchased another company and is in the process of trying to grow it; his priorities are still with the boys and on helping develop and grow youth programs in Rogue River. He is Founder and President of the Rogue River Youth Association, President of Pop Warner, and active in Little League. He coaches two teams in during both football and baseball season.
Both are certifed Scuba Divers and avid golfers; Derek also has his Pilots License tries to fly their plane as often as time permits. They love travel extensively to dive and/or golf although adopting the boys limits them now to a few trips a year.
